Natural language processingNLP
Natural language processing (NLP) is the field of AI concerned with how computers understand, interpret and generate human language. It's the umbrella under which conversational AI, NLU, and language models sit.
NLP spans understanding (parsing meaning) and generation (producing language). Modern NLP is dominated by large language models, which handle both in a single system.
