STIR/SHAKEN
STIR/SHAKEN — US/Canada caller-ID attestation framework. Mandatory for outbound calls; the platform handles it automatically.
Attestation and spam labelling are separate mechanisms, and conflating them is the most common misreading of the framework. STIR/SHAKEN answers whether a caller is entitled to display the number it is showing; carrier analytics answer whether the call looks unwanted. A call can pass attestation at the highest level and still arrive labelled — see what a Spam Risk label actually means.
