Conversational IVR
Also called: AI IVR · next-gen IVR
Conversational IVR is a phone system that replaces the traditional menu tree with conversational AI: callers simply say what they need in natural language, and the system understands and acts, rather than making them 'press 1'.
It's the bridge term between legacy IVR and full AI voice agents. The practical difference for callers is enormous — no menu memorization, no repeating themselves, faster resolution.
